Chefette Restaurants, an indigenous family owned business, is again a proud GOLD sponsor of this year’s CIBC FirstCaribbean “Walk for the Cure.”  The local Restaurant Chain, well known for giving support to the local Community and many charities, will be partnering with the organizers of Walk for the Cure 2017 to raise funds for the care and support of those affected by Cancer in Barbados.

Recently at Chefette’s Corporate Office, Krystle Maynard, Barbados’s Walk Manager received the sponsorship cheque and said that “CIBC FirstCaribbean and the Barbados Cancer Society Breast Screening Programme are pleased to partner with Chefette Restaurants for our Walk for the Cure 2017. This is the fifth year Chefette is partnering with us. Chefette is also a proud sponsor of our Paint for the Cure Barbados event which takes place on October 14th 2017 at the Radisson Aquatica Resort. Their support along with that of our other partners offers a chance for an early diagnosis and consequently earlier treatment and a chance at a full recovery, to many women whose lives have been touched by cancer. It offers ongoing care and treatment for those bravely battling the illness, and it offers support, hope, comfort and care to family members. Raising awareness, championing early detection and making life just a little more comfortable for those with cancer, their families and caregivers is what our walk must always be about.

Lisa Carter, Chefette’s Advertising Manager presented the cheque and said “Chefette is extremely pleased to be afforded the opportunity once again to lend financial support to this worthy cause.  We recognise that Cancer is a devastating disease that impacts the lives of many persons directly, and indirectly.  This year Chefette is launching its own marketing campaign for the full month of October called ACT (Awareness Cure Togetherness) to assist in bringing awareness to everyone and highlighting that early detection is important and it can save many lives and our sponsorship of the Walk for Cure event is part of our marketing campaign.”

The Walk for the Cure takes place on Sunday October 1st 2017 at CIBC FirstCaribbean Warrens at 3:30PM. The after-walk activities, which include the prize giving ceremony and local entertainment, will take place by the Dome Mall in Warrens. Persons interested in walking can register at the Barbados Cancer Society on Henry’s Lane.
