Chefette Donates To The Salvation Army

Since 2001, Chefette started a Donation Box Programme within its Restaurants & Corporate Offices to encourage loyal customers and dedicated staff members to contribute to the efforts of raising funds for the benefit of local charities that support the less fortunate in our Society.  The Salvation Army is one of seven Charities that benefits from the generosity of the Donation Box Programme.

Recently during a presentation at Chefette’s Corporate office, Divisional Commander, Major Denzil Walcott, received the cheque for $7,000 and said “Giving as little as a dollar a day can have an enormous impact on those around you.  Making a regular monthly donation allows you to spread your donations across the year and allows us to plan more effectively for future services.

We at the Salvation Army express our heartfelt thanks to Chefette and its customers for their generosity.  With the support of establishments like yours coupled with the generosity of the general public we will impact over four thousand families.  We will also have the capacity to assist many more throughout the year.”

Chefette’s Advertising Manager, Lisa Carter presented the cheque and said, “We at Chefette are pleased to have been given the opportunity to assist the various charities like The Salvation Army.  This was made possible over the years by way of the contributions from our loyal customers and committed staff.  For this we thank them for their generosity.  Indeed it is inspiring to see that Barbadians are living up to their reputations of giving assistance to the less fortunate, as shown by the generous amounts placed in the donation boxes.”

The others charities that receive donations via The Donation Box Programme are, Youth With A Mission, Special Olympics, The Diabetes Association of Barbados,  Variety - the Children’s charity The Barbados Red Cross Society and St. Vincent De Paul.
