Chefette Continues to Support National HIV/AIDS Commission & AIDS Food Bank.

Since 2002 Chefette Restaurants has been making monetary contributions to The National HIV/AIDS Commission (NHAC) and the AIDS Food Bank, in order to enable them in supporting persons living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.

Recently, at Chefette’s corporate office, Public Relations Officer of the NHAC Fabian Todd received the cheque from the local Restaurant Chain and said “We have returned to a sense of normalcy after battling the other pandemic, COVID-19. There have been gains lost due to COVID-19 restrictions, and your donation here today will allow us to reinvigorate our programmes to retain those losses.

The National HIV/AIDS Commission will in early 2023 be rejuvenating our Speak-Sister Campaign, which focuses on the challenges relative to the rapidly increasing number of women infected and affected by HIV. Speak-Sister will run in tandem with the Commission’s ever-popular Man Aware intervention which similarly, addresses men and the impact of HIV on them.

Thank you Chefette Restaurants on behalf of the NHAC's Chairman, Director, staff, and volunteers.”

The HIV/AIDS Food Bank was also represented at the presentation. In thanking Chefette Restaurants, Stacia Whittaker Manager of the Food Bank expressed gratitude and said “The Ministry of Health & Wellness, HIV Food Bank thanks the Management of Chefette Restaurants for continuously making the HIV Food Bank the recipient of their annual donations. The donation, which we received on November 25, 2022, will provide food supplies to our most vulnerable persons living with HIV (PLHIV). The HIV disease may be exacerbated by poor and insufficient nutrition therefore, the HIV Food Bank seeks to provide food and nutrition services to all PLHIV at all stages of the disease.

To this end, the provision of nutritionally balanced food hampers, nutrition assessments, monitoring and education is a pertinent part of HIV management and the support of donors has become the lifeline in achieving these outcomes. Our sincerest thanks to Chefette, for including the food bank in its annual giving. Happy Independence/Republic Day and Season's Greetings to you and yours.”

Chefette’s Advertising Manager Lisa Carter said “we are fully supportive of both the National HIV/AIDS Commission and the AIDS Food Bank in their effort to assist persons living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. Chefette will continue to offer these charities financial assistance, and wishes them continued success as they work together to the enrichment of the lives of those affected by HIV/AIDS.”
