Chefette Continues to Assist the Diabetes Association of Barbados

Chefette Restaurants, the local Restaurant chain in Barbados, is once again demonstrating that it is committed to supporting local charities and giving back to the Community, in general. The Diabetes Association, is the most recent charity to receive financial assistance from them.  

Lisa Carter Advertising Manager, recently presented a cheque in the amount of $7,500 and said “The company is continuing its outreach programme which begun in 2001 and aims to support community based initiatives; and also provide assistance, to a number of local charities.  She added that the funds came from proceeds collected through donation boxes located at all 15 restaurants and we are grateful to the public for their contributions especially in these challenging economic times. The company also contributes to the overall total.”

Recently at Chefette’s Corporate Office, Mr. John Campbell, Treasurer of the Organization received the cheque and expressed gratitude to the restaurant chain, and said, “The funds received will go towards education and outreach of persons living with diabetes.  The outreach programme is to assist those persons who cannot come into the office for treatment and education”.

The Diabetes Association of Barbados is a non-profit organization which is concerned with human welfare and the provision of support for persons with Diabetes.  Their objective is to improve the quality of life for people living with Diabetes and those at risk, through up to date education, good management, and control of their condition.
