Chefette’s Fun Run raises $135,000 for 3 Charities

The 7th annual Chefette Fun Run took place on Sunday, 9 June 2019 as over 5,000 runners assembled in neon yellow sponsored t-shirts at Warrens, St. Michael. Present at this year’s run were Chefette Ambassadors; Miss Barbados World 2019 Meagan Theobalds, 2 Mile Hill and Barbados Olympic athlete Akela Jones.

A sum of $135,000 was raised from this year’s event which will directly benefit The Aunty Olga’s Needy Children's Fund; managed by Variety the Children’s Charity, The Precious Touch Foundation and The YWCA Breakfast Program which provides meals for over 1,200 kids daily during the school terms.

During a recent presentation held at Chefette’s Corporate office, West Terrace Primary the third prize winner, was presented with their prize for purchasing the third most T-shirts. The other participating schools were St. Winifred’s who won the top prize and second place winner is The Ursuline Convent.

Awards were given to the top winners in five (5) categories. First Male and Female across the line, First teen male and female across the line, the first boy and girl across the line, first senior across the line, largest participating school and largest corporate team which was won by Carter’s the second consecutive year with over 200 participants.
