Chefette Assists the Diabetes Association of Barbados

Chefette Restaurants is once again demonstrating its commitment to giving back to the Barbados Community. Recently, Lisa Carter, Chefette’s Advertising Manager, presented a cheque for $6,500 to Trudy N. Griffith, President of the Diabetes Association of Barbados.

On receiving the donation Ms. Griffith expressed her gratitude to Chefette and noted that her Association’s theme is “Education; Support; Advocacy.  She said “The Diabetes Association of Barbados remains committed to persons living with or affected by diabetes. We make a public pledge to remain connected to persons who require our services. The financial donation will contribute to the expenses which we incur in running the Association.”
Mrs. Carter pointed out that the funds were the generous contributions of customers collected through the donation boxes located at all 15 of Chefette’s Restaurants and the 2 BBQ Barns.  The Advertising Manager also added that she was grateful to the public for their contributions over the years.  The donation box programme started in 2001, and every 3 months the funds collected are donated to one of seven deserving local charities.
