Barbados Red Cross Society receives donation from Chefette

CHEFETTE Restaurants community outreach programme, continues to assist charitable organisations across the island.  Recently, the Barbados Red Cross Society received a monetary donation which was made possible through Chefette’s Donation Box Programme.

During the cheque presentation at Chefette’s Corporate Office, Danielle Toppin, Director-General, expressed gratitude and said “The Barbados Red Cross greatly welcomes this generous donation from Chefette Restaurants Ltd. and the Barbadian public. These funds will be used to support our ongoing ‘Meals on Wheels’ programme, which provides meals to 150 beneficiaries. We recognise the significance of this donation in the midst of what for many of us, are challenging economic times. This speaks to the Spirit of who we are as a people. We would not be able to continue the work that we do without the kind support of organisations such as Chefette and the countless volunteers and members of the public who have supported us throughout the years.”

Chefette’s Advertising Manager, Lisa Carter said “Donating to the Barbados Red Cross Society is a great way to contribute to our community in a meaningful way. The money will assist the Red Cross Society to maintain their long standing Meals on Wheels Programme. We are pleased that our Donation Box Programme has been active since 2002 and continues to raise funds that assist seven deserving local charities. In addition to the Red Cross Society, the other six charities are St. Vincent De Paul, Youth With a Mission, Special Olympics, The Diabetes Association, Variety the Children’s Charity and the Salvation Army.  

Again, we would like to thank our valued customers and staff members for continuing to support this worthwhile programme.  We the Chefette Family, greatly appreciate the opportunity given to us by the charities to contribute meaningfully to their efforts of assisting the less fortunate in our community.”
