The University of the West Indies Chefette Scholarships In 1997, the Chefette Scholarship Program was born, for the children of the staff members of Chefette, who are full-time students at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, St.Michael, Barbados. In 1999, the Draft Regulations were restructured to allow the children of Chefette staff to be given the first opportunity to be awarded a scholarship. If there are no Chefette students qualifying, then the scholarships are open to other Nationals of Barbados who are full-time students here at the U.W.I, Cave Hill Campus. Since its inception in 1997, Chefette has given over $150,000.00 towards the scholarships fund.
