Angela Downes

Cashier (employed from 1973 to 2011)

Angela Downes started working at Chefette Restaurants Limited as a cashier in 1973 and was excelled in the role for over 37 years until retirement in June 2011. Angela was a steady force on front counter and helped Chefette win, and maintain, the love of the public by offering the high standards of service for which the company continues to be renowned. Said to have hardly shown any signs of aging, Angela is proof of the healthy benefits of smiling everyday. She is remembered as one of the legends in the Chefette Family.

Cassandra Leonard

Assistant Manager (employed from 1981 to 2011)

Cassandra Leonard began employment with Chefette Restaurants Limited in 1976 as a Preparation hostess. After working for a number of years she left for other pursuits before returning to the Chefette Family in 1981. Upon her return, Ms. Leonard steadily climbed through the internal ranks over the next 30 years until retirement in July 2011 as an Assistant Manager within the organization. She is remembered as a strict but courteous, versatile and reliable member of our management team. 

Doreen Nicholls

Cook (employed from 1972 to 1998)

Doreen “Vetta” Nicholls” was among the first group of employees who started working at Chefette Restaurants Limited when it opened on December 13th, 1972. Doreen started employment as a Roti Preparation Hostess, and spent 26 years within Chefette helping to build our reputation for producing quality roti products.

Doreen was renowned for her roti pastry making skills. She was a member of the original Golden Girls of Chef Foods (Chefette's manufacturing company) along with Lorenza Downes. Doreen wore the crown for pastry making and Lorenz for roti cooking. Doreen is remembered with love as one of our original family members who worked so hard with us in our early days to satisfy our customers and build our brand.

Lois Daniel

Cook (employed from 1980 to 2010)

Lois Daniel started work at Chefette Restaurants Limited as a Cook on December 4th, 1980 and excelled in this role within the Chef Foods environment for 30 years, until retirement in December 31st, 2010. Lois was known for her witty sense of humor among her Chef Foods team mates. She was well respected and known for being firm, fair and a good role model having mentored many generations of persons passing through Chef Foods Manufacturing Inc.

Lorenza Downes

Cook (employed from 1972 to 2008)

Lorenza Downes was part of the first group of employees who started work at Chefette Restaurants Limited on December 13th, 1972. Lorenza started employment as a Preparation Hostess, was later promoted to the position of Roti Cook and spent 35 years with Chefette helping to build our reputation for producing quality roti products. Lorenza was renowned for her roti cooking skills. Lorenza was a member of the original Golden Girls of Chef Foods along with Doreen Nicholls. Lorenza wore the crown for Roti cooking while Doreen Nicholls wore the crown for pastry making. Lorenza is remembered as one of the legends within the Chefette Family.

Margaret Farrell

Branch Manager (employed from 1972 to 2011)

Margaret Farrell started work as a Roti Preparation hostess in Chefette Restaurants Limited on December 13th, 1972 and climbed steadily through the ranks over the next 38 years reaching the position of Branch Manager at the time of her retirement in January 2011. Margaret was renowned throughout the organization, and our customer base, for her “sweet talking” skill; a skill she would come to share with several generations which came under her charge. She was the epitome of a saleswoman and helped to form part of the foundation upon which Chefette Restaurants Limited was built. She will always be remembered as one of the legends within the Chefette Family.
